Instructions & Care Guide for Butterfly Releases
THE RELEASE MUST BE MADE DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS AND MUST BE OUTDOORS.
Inclement Weather: We cannot guarantee a successful release if you release the butterflies in inclement weather, or if your release day temperature is below 70 degrees. WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT RELEASE THEM IN THE RAIN. Do not release butterflies over water or beaches.
Care Until Time of Release: Store the butterflies in a cool, dark place (ex. air-conditioned room), until ready to transport to the event. When transporting butterflies, keep them covered to shield them from light.
The butterflies will need to warm up before they are released as they are cold blooded. In warmer months above 80 degrees, it will only take a few minutes to acclimate. Below 80 degrees may take a little longer. Placing envelopes/basket in full sun for a few minutes will encourage the process.
