As Floridians know, the weather can change on an hour-by-hour basis. For the safety of our staff and customers, we may close unexpectedly for inclement or severe weather conditions.
COVID Guidelines
To maintain a safe and enjoyable shopping experience for our guests and staff, we require face masks or coverings be worn when inside any buildings or when in close proximity of other guests. We have acres of space for safe, comfortable distancing while strolling through the gardens.
The Nursery
Lukas Nursery Sod & Lawn Care
Here at Lukas Nursery, we offer only #1 grade sand-bottom based St. Augustine and Zoysia sod, grown to preform best in Central Florida’s sandy soils. Our sod is freshly cut, delivered and sold in a viable condition. We carry sod on an extended weekend basis, typically starting on Thursday afternoon and throughout the weekend.

How Much Sod Do I Need?
Each piece of sod roughly covers 2.66 sq. ft. or roughly 1.5 ft wide x 2 ft long.
How to Calculate Area: Length x Width = Total Sq. Feet
Take your Total Sq. Footage and divide it by 2.66 to get the approximate number of pieces you'll need.
Can I Pre-Order?
We do take pre-orders for pallets of sod. We prefer orders be placed by Tuesday of each week, but we will accept orders anytime as availability of sod permits. We are unable to take pre-orders for pieces of sod. Pieces of sod are available on a first come, first serve basis.
Do You Deliver?
We do not offer delivery of sod unless the order is of 6 pallets or more. Orders of 6 pallets or more will be drop shipped directly from our sod supplier. For orders of less than 6 pallets, it is more economical for most to borrow or rent a truck or trailer. You can then pick up your pallet of sod here on site and we will load it with our forklift tractor. Be sure your truck and/or trailer has the appropriate capacity to handle the weight of a pallet of sod.
How Much Does a Pallet of Sod Weigh?
A pallet of sod can vary in weight. Based on how moist the pieces are when cut, a pallet can weigh anywhere from 2,500-4,000 pounds. For lighter pallets, a Ford F-150 or its equivalent can handle a pallet of sod. For heavier pallets, a Ford F-250 or its equivalent is necessary to carry a pallet of sod.
