How Much Sod Do I Need?

Each piece of sod roughly covers 2.66 sq. ft. or roughly 1.5 ft wide x 2 ft long.

How to Calculate Area: Length x Width = Total Sq. Feet

Take your Total Sq. Footage and divide it by 2.66 to get the approximate number of pieces you'll need.

Can I Pre-Order for Pickup In Store?

We do take pre-orders for pallets of sod. We prefer orders be placed by Tuesday of each week, but we will accept orders anytime as availability of sod permits. We are unable to take pre-orders for pieces of sod. Pieces of sod are available on a first come, first serve basis.

How Much Does a Pallet of Sod Weigh?

A pallet of sod can vary in weight. Based on how moist the pieces are when cut, a pallet can weigh anywhere from 2,500-4,000 pounds. For lighter pallets, a Ford F-150 or its equivalent can handle a pallet of sod. For heavier pallets, a Ford F-250 or its equivalent is necessary to carry a pallet of sod. When picking up a pallet of sod in store, we will load it with our forklift. Be sure your truck and/or trailer has the capacity to handle the weight of a pallet of sod. Before loading, a loading liability waiver must be signed.

Do You Offer Installation Services?

We do not offer sod installation services. While we do not offer recommendations for sod installation companies, we encourage to find a local landscaper or company in your neighborhood or area.

Do You Deliver?

Yes! We now offer delivery of pallet quantities of 1 pallet or more. Order online and it will be freshly cut and shipped direct from our premier sod grower, Bethel Farms.
